Making your wheels turn with the Mercedes Tie rod
Part of the steering system, the Mercedes Tie rod connects the center link to the steering knuckle on cars with conventional suspension systems and recirculating ball steering gears. It has an inner and outer end.
The Mercedes tie rod plays an important role in your vehicle’s steering and suspension system. It is used as an efficient steering linkage, steering knuckle pivot supports, and used in other hinge mechanisms. It connects the steering rack to the front wheel hub. This works by transmitting the force from the steering center link or the rack gear to the steering knuckle which causes the wheels to turn. It uses a threaded adjusting sleeve which allows the length of the tie rod to be adjustable. This adjustment is used in setting a critical alignment angle when positioning the vehicle’s toe.
The Mercedes tie rods works together with the ball joints in ensuring that your vehicle steers left and right even when it hits irregular road surfaces that can cause the wheel to move up and down. It is composed of the inner and outer end. The inner tie rod ends are connected to either the end of the center link which acts as the pivot points for the steering gear. The outer tie rod ends are attached to the steering knuckle which is responsible for turning the front wheels. It has the upper and lower ball joints where it pivots creating geometry of the steering axis.
The steering system must accurately turn the wheels at the same rate and along the same plane at all conditions. That is why the Mercedes tie rod and the ball joint must see to it that the wheels are rigidly held. A worn out tie rod can cause abnormal wear patterns to your tires, erratic steering and wandering. These are clear indications that the tie rod needs replacement.
Replacing the tie rod must be done along with a wheel alignment since replacing it can affect the toe setting. So, it is essential that the steering and suspension system must be inspected regularly or checked by qualified service professional for best results.

Mercedes Valve Cover Gasket
The Mercedes valve cover gasket serves as a tight sealing for the Mercedes valve cove so as for it to efficiently provide full coverage on the valve trains and the rocker arms. This helps in keeping the cylinder head and the engine free from leaks, water, oil, and other particulates. These elements can affect the engine’s efficiency and thus, it is a must to prevent it from accumulating. The valve covers are bolted on top of the engine together with its valve cover gasket which is usually a rubber or cork that seals the cover to the engine.
